Advantages of Solar Heating

The benefit of solar water heating are well known - energy from the sun costs nothing, and you can obtainas much as 80% of your hot water requirements for free!

And while you are reducing your power bill, you are helping the environment. That’s why thei Solar Water Heater is the
smart choice, with the highest standards in water heating performance. Superior design, technology and materials ensure the very best in efficiency, slashing your heating costs while you enjoy hot water, all year round.

Benefits of Solar Heating

  • Up to 80% of hot water for free
  • Speedy installation
  • Reduced visual impact on roof
  • Save up to 3.4 tones of CO2 per year
  • Long life in any environmentv
  • 10 year warranty

The most common use of the sun’s energy is to provide light and warmth. However, there is also a significant potential for providing hot water. The generation of hot water represents one of the largest culprits of energy usage in most households, relating to almost 43%.
(dependent on the size of household and usage pattern).

Solar rays are free – therefore, an investment in solar water heating will beat the stock market any day, any decade, risk free.

What is Solar Energy?

The sun radiates vast amounts of solar radiant energy to earth. This energy is absorbed by most objects. The darker an object, the higher the level of absorption. South Africa has one of the highest levels of radiation in the world, almost 2x the level experienced in Northern
Europe, thereby making South Africa an ideal place for Solar Water Heating.

Solar Water Heaters absorb the radiation through special black absorber plates or collectors such as our LT Series Solar collectors.
The flat plate solar collectors available at SA Pools (Figure 1) set industry standards for superior performance and reliability. Specialized technology and quality make the difference. Each LT series collector is engineered to achieve the maximum efficiency in industrial,
commercial and domestic water heating applications.

LT series collectors are attractively designed to incorporate technically efficient materials.

The collector box and backing are made from corrosion-resistant aluminium alloy and feature an attractive dark brown baked enamel finish. The collector cover is a dimpled, low-iron tempered glass specifically formulated for solar applications. Frame fasteners are of
aluminium or stainless steel, and all seals are of rubber that is non-degradable under ultraviolet light. The collector utilizes selected insulation on the back and sides to minimize ambient heat loss.
